Using a micro prism to split the star first won't be what you want to do as
the resolution becomes that of the fiber spacing.
Interesting that fibers have gotten so small but they'll take anything to
the limit of what can happen physically.
My suspicions are that I'd chose a diameter of acceptance of about twice the
Airy disc for the fiber at the largest and run that to the testing equipment
for further processing. Using color dependent fibers really doesn't give
you any really better resolution of the spectrum unless you are intending to
only look a certain colors for their bands and that is fraught with problems
as the radial velocity from the earth can be a problem for fast moving
objects putting the particular notch or peak way off of the center of the
fiber if you are going to use a microprism setup.
