ATM tested today at lunch!

hello to all,

after reading everyone's responses to my insanity,  I went and did a focal 
test using the sun,  the sun is out here on a temp basis in MA, we borrowed 
it from Fresno lol,  I did this on 3 different surfaces in 3 different 
locations.  all came up with the same.  the sun focused at 44 1/2 inches,  I 
then did the flash light test again,  90".  So I found that during my 
psychotic episode last night believing my focal was over 90" it turns out, I 
am just at my target focal.  I was shooting for a f/8 f/7 mirror and I am 
just between the 2,  6" f/7.4.  So I don't have to go back and regrind, 
thinking it was at 90" .

I will continue tonight with the 9 micron, and then make a second hydorstone 
tool and melt the lap.  A question on melting the lap though,  can I melt 
this in a clean tin can sitting inside of hot water on my stove for a few 
hours?  kind of like a double boiler for making fudge candy.  has anyone 
tried this?  honestly,  my wife would see me to my grave if I used her crock 
pot to melt this stuff lol lol
