     Jerry,     In the construction industry concrete core drillers are used 
to core out concrete
floors or walls for conduit, air vents , etc. Where I work we use them to 
core out concrete for
aluminum railings then pour quick set concrete to hold the posts to the 
floor.
    Our company is faxed flyers by manufactuers of these core bits. The 
cutting edge of these
bits are impregnated with diamond bits as to cut through anything. These 
bits are used only on
special drills that have there own stands and are water fed.  The diamond 
core bits come in sizes
from 2 inch to 12 inch.  The problem is they are very expensive. If you have 
connections to
someone that uses one of these core drillers, it just so happens 3 inch is 
the most common
diameter used.  With one of these machines it would probably only take 30 
minutes to cut and
that would be going slow...
