ATM Melting Pitch

Hi guys,

I recently replaced my old electric hot plate because it shorted out. 
After looking around for a new electric burner to melt pitch (I did 
not find a great selection) I gave up and bought what was available 
at the local target: an electric deep fat fryer.

  This thing is great!  I just plug it in and it melts pitch fast!  It 
smokes a bit if I leave it on, but I just turn it off when the pitch 
is all melted.  You turn it off by pulling out the cord, which is 
much more sane than it sounds.  The other really cool feature is that 
the surface is no-stick.  Pitch rolls off it!  I can wipe off the 
outside with a paper towel and it is clean.  When it is cooled off I 
use the included plastic cover to seal the top until the next time. 
I used enough pitch to make a 10" lap.  It will hold much more than 
that.

I know this sounds like an advertisement, but I must say it was much 
nicer making a lap with this device than my old method with a pan and 
a burner.  I have no interest in the company, etc., etc.
