This is an area where I look forward to the next ATM book that addresses
more advanced concepts...mirror support, mirror cells, various approaches,
etc. What has been written will work for not-too-thin mirrors and not-
very-large mirrors, but many mirror cells made for big amateur scopes
require the user to jostle/bump/nudge the cell to help things 'settle'
from time to time. That is a sure sign of stiction...something that we
don't want in mirror cells.
Compliant hinges are one way to solve the stiction problem.
