ATM Turcite X

The material Turcite X http://www.boedeker.com/turcax_p.htm  may be of
interest to TNs.  Turcite X appears to be the new age lignum vitae(material
John Harrison used in building a wooden clock still running after 270 years
without oil lubrication)  I have started making zero backlash leadscrew nuts
for my focuser with Turcite X. Used with the 5/16-40 UNS stainless steel
leadscrew makes for 10 knob revolutions per inch of focuser travel and
movement is buttery smooth without the need for lubrication of any kind. I
believe there should be many uses of Turcite X in atming. Unlike pure
Teflon, Turcite X machines well, doesn't cold flow, and can be bonded (I use
Loctite 609 preceded with Loctite Primer N)
