ATM Flexing a 16'

Grinding with the mirror in its cell seems a good idea at a glance, but if
one takes certain advice (and infringes on a certain patent) and glues the
blank to the cell with silicone seal, how is one to rotate it during
grinding/polishing?  Should one leave it unglued, and then have to arrange
lateral support, or might it be better to cast a curved support for the
blank in dental stone or cement, with a layer or two of terry cloth  to take
up the irregularities?  Just asking-never tried a curved-back mirror.
