If you can't find anything by a little googling then there probably isn't
much on the web.
The only thing that I know of the design is that the trusses from the center
section which carries the trunions are balanced for the loading on them for
the amount of motion that they do.and that motion is restricted to a
parallel shift rather than a rotation about a radius.  Thus, as you move the
system about, the front and rear parts move about but the whole system
remains in alignment.
Another thing that I will note is that the larger the trusses, the less the
motions as the whole things gets more rigid.
