RE below:  yes, the middle bolt is just 3/8 inch "mirror-ward" (can I
use this word?), and is threaded through the main plastic fitting.  It
adds just a little bit of potential adjustment.  I find what works best
is to loosen the bolt that holds the assembly to the ruler, make an
adjustment on this middle bolt, and then retighten.  That way it seems
less likely to strip the plastic.

RE:  below:  In and out of the garage it is fine.  After transporting I
seem to need to twist it back toward the mirror.  (that was another
chance to use mirror-ward and I missed it!).
