ATM Offtopic - Visa in USA

My girlfriend are planning to study for six months in USA, and I was
hoping to go with her. I therefore need a visa and a work permit in
USA.

We are quite early in the planning stage, so we haven't quite reached
the stage where we have to apply for a visa just yet. But I really
would like to know how hard it is to get these days, so I was hoping
some of you guys could give me an answer to this.

I'm a computer specialist (not sure if that's the correct technical
term). I'm very experienced in Java development and the Unix/Linux
world. I have a Danish degree in computer science.

What do you think, will I have problems finding a job in USA? Will I
have problems getting a visa and work permit for six months in USA?
