ATM Q: Fog-streaks during polishing

I am at about the 3 quarters portion of polishing (just about 4 hours total really), on my 12.5", and can't seem to get rid of what appears to be "plaid" stipes/streaks at one corner, about 1/3 the diameter of the mirror.
I've polished the rest of it quite well, the lap is in good condition, contact is nice between them.
However, I just can't get rid of it.

I figured I had 3 choices;
- Polish like no man has ever polished before, until the area is gone (might help the over all sphere too),
- Go back to 25 or 12T and grind it all away, if it is a depression of some sort,
- make a zonal tool for it, but I'm not certain about that idea.

Of course a ronchi screen test shows it as a smear of some sort. Doesn't show up in the lines, which is good. It tells me that this is probably not a depression of some sort. Feels smooth too.

But the darn thing just won't clear up in that area.

Anyone have any experience with this problem?
Advice?
