It all depends upon how you do your electronics board. Putting the CCD in
the light path will make the electronics want to stream backwards along the
shadow of the CCD itself. It may also be wise here to put the actual
driving electronics for the control lines behind the CCD and the rest of the
electronics to the side of the scope. This can also mean that the analog
image signal can go in a different direction than the digital control stuff
and with a proper design, there will be no problems with the analog signal.
The other problem is the heat removal and that is merely a liquid cooling of
the back of the TEC module (I might note that the ones used on the Cookbook
camera were a fair bit on the huge side!) to remove the heat of the cooler.
