I saw the KEASA label on your message to Cathy and it brought back memories. Not sure if you remember me, but I was the guy from Florida w/ the handheld 6" F/4 Newt. that came to your July observing session. I hooked up w/ you and Paul Jardin and had a wonderful night of observing. You and I were discussing rho dopsin (sp?). Folks, these KEASA folks are spoiled...excellent skies. The North American Nebula was a piece of cake to observe visually with the 6" F/4 and a 35mm Panoptic from the island of Kauai. I'm a mechanical engineer and tinker both at work and away. There are always a couple in the bunch that are misplaced in an engineering position; however, those that make a career of it seem to be the ones that do have an inclination to ponder and tinker. It's the ol' "I went into engineering 'cause I like to engineer; I didn't go into the dance arts because I do not have the inclination or ability to dance". Matter of fact I tripped and broke both my arms in November...definitely not a dancer! I'm new on this list. My current project is a 20.5-inch Newtonian. I'm designing a grinding machine right now and am anxious to get cutting wood and metal. I'm looking forward to reading the comments from you atm-types. Say "hi" to Paul for me. Take care...
