ATM Surplus in San Jose

Several people have asked me about the surplus place I mentioned in San
Jose, and I've been too busy at work to answer. Sorry!

Anyway, the place I alluded to is called Triangle Machinery & Tool,
at 1051 Commercial Ct., San Jose (Old Oakland Rd exit off 101),
(408)452-8666. They advertise "Over 1000 items for the inventor",
but I think that's a very conservative estimate -- it's a huge warehouse
packed to the ceiling with Neat Stuff: motors, microscopes, springs,
(non-worm)gears, hundreds of little custom fabricated metal brackets of
all shapes and sizes, car transmission parts, threaded rods, and that's
only the stuff I remember immediately visible from the entrance. I figure
it'll take me 3-4 hours to properly appreciate the place (I got there just
before closing in my search for clock drive motors). It ought to be a fun
place for any ATM in the area who doesn't already know about it (and from
the number of microscopes I saw, they may have other optical equipment
there as well, or at least microscope eyepieces).

A couple of people thought I meant Weird Stuff Warehouse; I used to think
Weird Stuff was neat, but Triangle has more on one shelf than Weird Stuff
has in the whole store (though Weird Stuff does currently have cheap 2RPM
DC motors and nice little shoulder bags that make good eyepiece cases if
you don't mind an eyepiece case that says "Interactive Network" on it).
