As a beginning ATM, I just wanted to voice my agreement. My primary
interest is in using the telescope, not making it. Making it is the means,
not the end itself. I can honestly say that once I get my first scope on
line, I'll probably start thinking about making a mirror for either a larger
scope, or just a faster scope for portability and photography. But for me,
the thought of spending hours, days, weeks, grinding and polishing, without
benefit of prior experience, just wasn't worth it when I wanted to get a
scope finished so I can see first hand the wonders of the sky. And for all
you brave souls with the (pardon the pun) true grit to make your own
mirrors, KEEP ON PUSHIN'!
