Subject: ATM Polish rear surface of mirror?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

Hi All,

I'm new to the ATM list and fairly new to ATM in general. I'm
currently working on re-figuring a 6" mirror that I made a feeble
attempt at as a teenager. I saw instructions somewhere (Texereau
I think) about grinding the rear surface of the mirror. Why
would I want to do this?

While I'm at it: Is it useful to have a round mirror blank? I
ground off a chip from the side of the mirror and now the thing
is not quite round. When I used the "Bowl" method to chamfer
the edge, the bevel is wider in some spots than in others.

thanks,

Curt Thompson
