You can get self ballasted mercury lambs that will fit into any standard
socket.I got one,made by the Iwasaki Electric Co. Japan rated at 160 watts
for 55 Cdn dollars.The shorter wavelenght is a bonus.You might find it at
some farm co-ops or the like. --
