I am confused by the encoder resolution. I am using a Dob mount. I am using s1-1000 encoders with a resolution (I think) of 1024. When 0 is pressed from the main menu, to recive raw data from the encoders, here is what I see. An actual change in altitude of 90 degrees results in the encoder cycling four times through 1024 and the Tel cycling through 90 degrees four times. The azimuth is also off by this factor of four. I have marked the base of the scope so I can see exactly 360 degrees. I have set the resolution to 4096 to offset this error and that seemed to help. This is not exact though. 360 degrees on the azimuth come about with the res set to about 3996. Also, how critical is the intial setting of altitude to 0 or 90 degrees? What if the scope is not on a level surface? I hope someone can shed some light on this. Rich
