To get a picture of a spring loaded worm you might check out Sky and Tel
July 1989 page 100 A Double-Curved-Bolt Drive. Although this worm is 
loaded against a sector made of curved threaded stock the principle
is the same. My picture does not show the loading spring which is on the
right side or motor side. I used a tension spring but a compression
spring on the under side will also work.
