Re: [ATM] Tool surface medium

Even a tile tool will lock up if the conditions are right - bad
match of surfaces and no grooves in the tool. The problem is
that the whole surface will build a nice vacuum as you go over
the center and that is what locks up the tool as it drives the
grit into both the glass and the tool. This happens usually only
in the finer grits as the water works better as a sealant, not
moving about, with the finer grits. With the larger grits, the
lock will happen only for a short moment and tehn the water will
allow air into the center thus breaking the grip of the vacuum.
Don't worry about little pieces of glass locking up the tool and
mirrro as they areen't big enough to do anything. I've used
double thickness glass pieces on tools and have had no problems
with that setup.
If you do start to have lockup problmes, the proper solution is
to put a scratch on the tool from the edge to the center to allow
the air to get in and shorten your stroke til the problem
resolves itself.
