grinding abrasives of various grades have to be bought from big city ....I bought abrasives from a powder abrasive shop in Mumbai he was dealer of carborendum universal .......had many grades of carborendum ,aluminium oxide,but he demanded I should buy it in kilos he was reluctant to provide in small amount.
we have lime water soda ,green glass called float can find 12mm but also 19mm in big citys ........I dont know if anyone here manufactures big disk of borosilicate or pyrex or plate.........
I had been gifted a 12" pyrex blank from my friend in united states and am grinding it now...it s from newport glass company
it could be nice to try casting borosilicate disk may be cellular mirror there are facailities here like CGCRI centre for glass and ceramic reserch institute a government institute but I dont know if they would entertain
the machine Draper type costed me around 15000 rupee that might be 1USD=40 rupee(India)
375 USD
but in states it might cost more I dont know@ there ...........
