Respectfully, not even close. When you hot press a lap, you should move the
mirror around. There will not be any high spots.
*** Respectfully, I'd say he's right on the money. I never move the mirror
around when hot pressing, give it time to cool. You can't work a lap while
it's hot. And with short spells if you're working all in the same day, short
cold presses are all that's needed. If you leave a lap hanging a few mm over
the edge when pressing, you get a partial ring, and you have to trim and
then press again or you're dragging around one high spot and ruining the
smoothness. While chips of that size won't do much, they very certainly can
do something.
