[ATM] Argh! How do I fix this?

I started the 9 micron WAO today.  After 2 wets the mirror surface has 
already changed significantly.  I washed it and let it sit for an 
hour.  Then I found a chipped area near the edge.  I must have banged it on 
the tool but don't remember doing it.

My finger nail catches in the dings.  I am guessing that I would have to go 
back to 80 or 120 to take it out.  Not something that I want to do so I am 
guessing that it will get masked out or ignored.

Questions:
1) Should I do something to prevent stress risers?  What?
2) Is it a bad idea to ignore it?
3) Will I have problems polishing if I do ignore it?
