Re: [ATM] [ ] making Foucault tester
Pulling the lens off of the laser diode means destroying the
package that the diode was put into. Most of the diodes that
I've seen have the collimating lens as part of the packaging of
the diode. Next, you need to disconnect the laser diode from the
electronics that it is attached to and rewire it so that you can
put the power to it as you desire. Get it lasing and you will
quickly destroy the laser diode as the current is critical and it
is only the feedback electronics that is associated with the
diode that keeps it from getting too much current. Why make
things difficult for yourself as well as spend a lot more money
for a simple light source.
The KISS principle works best here! Why tear apart a piece of
equipment to get a difficult to work with device when ther are
much cheaper and better acting devices available.
