   The problem with shoulder bolts is the minimum size is 1/4", and they 
are several thou smaller than the bearings ID. So that can allow some 
slop in the assemble. Also a bearing with a 1/4" id will have an OD of 
5/8", getting a little large for a focuser  A better mounting solution 
is to use hardened dowel pins which can be lightly pressed into the 
bearings and the mounting area.
