I got a couple of notes about sources for bearings.  There have been quite 
a few small electric helicopters released in the last few years - $100 will 
usually get you everything including the radio and they fly fairly well.  I 
have had an E-Sky Honey Bee FP for a couple of years.

I am thinking of using something like these 
http://www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=B3164904&pid=NESKY128 with a 10mm 
outside diameter.  I guess  that I am lucky as there are still at least 3 
hobby shops in the Rochester area.
