Re: [ATM] Video Foucault Testing
The thing that you need with the TV set you have is a video in
port. This is usually an RCA plug and will also be accompanied
by one or more autio plugs, depending upon whether the sound in
the set is stereo or not. The "normal" color for the video is
yellow for the plastic insert but if the only one it is almost
any color. The audio will be white, black or red with white and
red being the "more normal" colors for audio. The RCA connector
is the little push in ones and the other connector usually used
is a screwon one which is the F connector and that only carries
RF for the tuner in the TVV.
Video comes in several flavors with the US standard being NTSC
while Europpean standards are PAL and SECAM for the most part.
Be aware of this as a camera may not be putting out what you have
in your country, especially if you're outside of the USA. I
occasionally see PAL cameras here in the US but they generally
aren't common.
The cameras you have selected are of a medium price range but for
the $45 forf the lens of 6-60mm L, I'd at the least buy the lens
(the second URL). The little single board cameras willdo the job
just fine so you don't need to buy the bigger brick type cameras
as the resolution needed for testing isn't that large. FWIW, I
recently bought a little security camera at my local drug store
at their electronics counter for $35 and it included the power
supply and cables to hook up to a TV set! All it needs is to
have the lens removed and a longer FL lens put in its place. A
single lens of about an inch of FL will do a fine job and you can
put the camrera in a box and put the lens on an opening in the
box and have qa nice camera for testing optics.
