[ATM] pitch and pitch laps...

Quick question...How much pitch do i need to make a lap to polish a 12" 
mirror?...I just need a ballpark...It seems to be sold in units described by 
mass not volume...And if anyone wants to help educate a brother a 
little!...hard or soft pitch...for a 12" f/5...i'm guessing on the softer 
side of things for what seems to me to be a pretty fast scope, though to 
many i reckon f/5 is middling at its fastest.  And ultimately i can always 
err on the hard side in buying, and soften it up on the stove with a lil 
turpentine, but it might abait a question down the road...something like, 
"why does my pitch lap suck?".

I'm not ready to polish yet...about to move on to 12T...just thinking ahead 
and trying to factor in a lil shipping time.

...And all this talk of flats is making me want to make or buy one as i 
think about making the secondary for this 12" project...the only question i 
have about the dicussion is thickness...are we talking the same 1:6, 1:8 
ratios that get talked about for mirrors here?
