Re: [ATM] Testing a Scope. With Bad Eyes.

On a similar subject, when either testing a scope, or for that matter
just plain viewing through one. I myself have always had good eyesight.
But when people with bad eyes look,, i have always told them that if
their eyes are just distance related and not astigmatism, they can just
take off their glasses, and refocus the scope as needed to get it
perfect for them. I have always thought this was a better way than
trying to look through their glasses.

Anyway,, the wonder is, with these new HIGH tech eyepieces we have
now, where things are super critical.. what, (if any) quality are we
loosing, when this is done?

Obviously for the eyepiece to work at it's best, the focal plane of the
scope should lie where the eyepiece design needs it to be.

But if we are re focusing it for the added imperfect lens that we are
placing after it,, and the position of the focal plane is shifted,, I
wonder how much is the image getting degraded (if any?) Or for the
crispest view should the people keep their glasses on?
