Before you declare it fully polished, I would suggest going to Radio Shack and buying one of their little $10.00  60x to 100x hand microscopes and looking carefully at the surface after you've washed it and dried it carefully. If you can't see anything, then it's polished out. If you can see tiny little pits, then you need to polish some more. It's worth the $10, believe me.
