[ATM] Profilometer : Was spherometer accuracy
Typing in "profilometer" in Google image search (7th page), there
is a picture that looks like a topo map of a mirror. Below is
the (very lengthy) link. Note that the profilometer seems to
be used as part of the optical system doing science
rather than merely as a test device for making a mirror. The
device shown here uses two mirrors in an interference config to
detect gravitational waves and ripples in space-time!!! I am
still trying to figure out how this works and how the gyros fit
in exactly. I could guess this would draw a lot of interest in
this group.
