Re: [ATM] Commercially available spherometer with MitutoyoDigimatic Indicator

Thanks to everyone that has responded.

Based on the numerous responses, I'm in agreement in building it myself.
I'll engage the services of a local machine shop, and provide them with a
design. I now have a couple of bids for Mitutoyo Digimatic Indicators on
ebay, and hope to get my hands on one soon.

If anyone has any recommended designs for a spherometer, as some people have
indicated, then feel free to share. I'm thinking of a 3-point design (like
a "Y" and not a "T"), where I have multiple holes along each leg where I can
screw in the points, thus providing varying diameters. For example, they
could provide diameters in half-inch increments between 3 and 6 inches (3,
3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, and 6). That would equate to 7 holes per leg, and
provide a pretty versatile tool.

Any thoughts on a useful range of diameters?
