Re: [ATM] Commercially available spherometer with MitutoyoDigimatic Indicator

Maybe I am slapping the face of decency, but since I am
doing ATMing and not professional optics, I mainly never
use a micrometer, ever. I spray water on the course glass
surfaces and just look for ROC by reflected light landing
on a piece of paper, and other cheap tricks. Occasionally,
I do actually end up using these and mainly build my own.
To that end, I once obtained a screw from Andy that works
great. It has something like 100 or 200 turns per inch, I
do not remember exactly (as said, I do not use these very
much).

In light of the present discussion, maybe someone can suggest
where such screws come from. I am at present in the USA and
was thinking to buy precision threaded rod stock for such
purposes, but did not find it on Ebay, etc. Maybe the original
poster, as well as me, could benefit from knowing where one
can buy such things and what kinds of specs, etc one should
look for.
