And yes, I have the Universal cataloge here, and just
for fun I called them and asked for pricing on their
part number
MR1113,  basicly a 4" spherometer base, no gauge, and
it sells for $540 USD.  For that kind of money you can
get a lot of machine shop time, and a gauge....
