[ATM] Notes on interferometry mathematics and algorithms
Dear ATMers and interferometrists:
I've written up some notes on interferometry mathematics and
algorithms, along with some related topics. This isn't intended to be
a comprehensive review of interferometry: mostly it's applied
mathematics that I've been able to turn into working algorithms. I've
also rehashed some data that I've discussed on the interferometry
group and to a lesser extent the ATM list over the past year or
so.You can find the article at
<http://home.earthlink.net/~mlpeck54/astro/imath/imath.pdf>. Comments
and corrections are welcome.
I've also updated my package of functions for "advanced"
interferogram analysis. The latest version of the source package is
at
<http://home.earthlink.net/~mlpeck54/astro/zernike/zernike_source.zip>.
Just in case anyone besides me is actually using it there are some
user visible changes to function calls. I've removed one high level
function that didn't really work well, and added one to compute
Zernike coefficients for a conic surface to arbitrary order. I was
also able to make a major improvement in the efficiency of the low
level routine for least squares fitting of phase shifted interferometry.
