Just before you give up Mike, get a quote on Sitall CO-115M
Astrositall from the Russian people. It is nearly as good as
Zerodur, at CTE=0.15ppm and much cheaper. You can budget on
about $5/cubic inch. I had a quote for 20" diameter by 1.8"
thick of standard quality and it came out around $2700, ground
edged and chamfered.
