I'd say the same answer applies to both those questions. One answer I have already given before you asked. But at the library I found out that people used to rub it, drink it, and stick it in their behinds. Take your pick. They always say "Search The Archives!" It took me about 4 minutes to find these links, written by atm'ers who could not find turpentine in their stores, the fourth is my favorite. Did I say it is a "fact" that you will be followed? No! I merely suggested the possibility.

After I went around to all the stores asking about turps the other day, I stopped at the library, parked on the street. When I came out there was a black car with a couple of suspicious-looking men in it parked only ~9" behind mine, even tho they could've parked 9', or 90', behind me. When I got in my car they did one of those U-turn sneak-aways 'they' like to do. Then a white van with two men in dark clothes followed me around. They didn't follow me into the little industrial park (too obvious I suppose, if indeed they were following me on purpose). But only 5 minutes later a police helicopter came flying in low and fast. The moment he was able to see my car parked behind the building he slowed down and began flying around in circles over me at very low altitude (I was alone in the area, no sirens in the distance, etc). Eventually he flew away, slowly, on a different vector than his approach. A direction from which he could still observe me. And that's a fact!!

Somebody said: "no limit to how many you can buy". The limit is how many they stock. Go in there and put in an order for 20 gallons, see what happens. Decline to give a reason, this is a free country, right? Home Depot has more turpentine than anyone around here that I saw, and they have less of it than anything else. Even the expensive stuff, MEK & Naphtha are stocked in larger quantities.

Turpentine - 7 quart size cans, 0 gallon size cans
Acetone - 17 quart cans, 44 gallon cans
Laquer Thinner - 0 quarts, 49 gallons
Paint Thinner - 53 quarts, 69 gallons

Also many gallon cans each of Mineral Spirits, Linseed Oil, and Xylol Xylene.

I tried to put this thread to bed once. It is beyond helping people build scopes, except maybe for the humor value, something to laugh at whilst pushing glass, and maybe keeping you out of jail, and the search page, so I refuse to say another word.
