Bruce,

If it's like the Quickfinder mounting brackets I have (square, 
plastic) there's a small countersunk hole in the center of the plastic 
mounting bracket for a quickfinder.

Get a 6/32 x 1/2" machine screw and nut.  (Use a longer bolt if you 
need to, but 1/2" should work.)  Drill a hole in the tube where you 
want the base and install it with the bolt and nut.  Don't overtighten.
