About a year ago, I contacted Corning about an 8"
quartz blank, and the guy quoted a price that (if
I recall correctly) was about $1,500.00.  My 
impression was that they don't typically market 
small telescope making materials, so the quote was
ridiculously high.  You might have better luck with 
the larger sizes.  I'm a member of the American
Astronomical Society, and each year they publish a
member directory.  Also included is a list of
corporate sponsors (and contacts), which includeed
Corning Glass Works up to 2003.  The listing for
Corning was Robert K. Jones in the Advanced Products
Department, and his telephone number was (607)
