Yes.  I get 1.91 nm RMS residual deformation.  Plenty low enough.  That 
was using a 2.14 inch diameter diagonal and f-ratio = 5.

I can't say for sure if silicone will be adequate in this installation. 
    You can probably make the silicone pads fairly large, perhaps as 
much as 1 inch diameter to help out.  Some safety stops at the sides and 
front are never a bad idea.
