I don't know the Bath Interferometer other than what I just
quickly saw via Google, but it looks like the purpose is just to
turn the laser beam into a spherical wavefront. If this is the
case then the GRIN lens is ideally suited and will add much
less  abberation to the wavefront than a biconvex lens.

The GRIN lens will need to be 0.23 pitch and if it's coated,
will have to have the correcting coating for your laser
wavelength, but other than that the spec is fairly open.

the COS Interferometer which uses a GRIN lens.
