Re: [ATM] Telescope Focusing at Public Events

I have wondered how on earth people get away with
low-profile focusers when the various eyepieces may
themselves focus at widely varying positions. Also, if
you ever look at stuff relatively close by (say, 100
yards or so instead of at infinity) the focal point
may need to change by several inches. 
Do people with those low-profile focusers only buy
parfocal eyepieces, or do they put in rings on each
eyepiece to backfit them so that they don't have to go
very far when focusing them?
