Mel,
  I assume that you mean pull out the circle cutter, and get rid of material 
that isn't structural.  I keep thinking of that, but am worried about dust.  
I already have big holes in the bottom of the scope for cooling, and am a 
bit worried about removing material in the sides.

  You do have a good point, however.  Maybe rebuild - with lots of holes, 
and then a thin veneer over the top, to keep dust out.  I will have to stew 
on that one.  Thanks!

Also, Mel - your 20" is a beauty.  However, I don't think that I could have 
done it for a first scope (no matter how much help I had from local club 
members - TAAS members).
