Congratulations on the mirror! I well remember my first 6" mirror. Why not
share a few comments on how it went.
As far as the bigger mirror, I suppose a case can be made for the compromising
effects of light pollution on light grasp, but in my opinion a bigger aperture
is always nice to have (not withstanding portability, cost etc. etc.). You can
>always< stop down a large aperture......'stopping a smaller one *up* is a bit
tougher' ;) ;)
My concern would be the jump in size as far as the working of the mirror
blank. I don't know your situation or experience level, but a 16" mirror is a
*LOT* more work than a 6". Oh baby! ;) ;) On the other hand if you have the
right situation, attitude, and dedication, go for it!!
Clear skies
