And 'lock up'.  Tool and mirror try and mate for life.  I think this 
has more to
do with drying out but that happens trying to prolong wets.

This also shows you if your strokes are right.  If you are too long with your
strokes at this point you will have turned edges that won't polish out in this
life time.  Make big X's on the tool and mirror and do MOT/TOT to see 
that they
grind away evenly.
