[ATM] Pit Stop (Pun) - Newbie needs advice.
Hi All, I'm new to this group and really enjoying reading all of the
fascinating threads.
I'm currently working on making my own 8inch f/6 mirror. I've done the
rough grinding with #80carbo and am now working with 120 Alox using the
'normal' stroke described by texereau. Problem is this. I've almost used
up all of the 120alox that came with my kit yet despite this I can still see
lots of pits larger than the average. I've done about 20 wets. My question
is this, should I move on and forget about these as they'll probably get
removed as I work with the finer grades or should I persist until every last
one of these larger pits is gone?
I assume the effect of a couple of pits on the final mirror will be
negligable anyway?
Thanks in advance for your advice.
Regards,
Dave Grennan
