[ATM] Question on my lap for 8" F6

I have used a lap on flat glass for a 12.5" f6 and had no problems.
I cut the channels a uniform depth, not cut all the way to the glass.

I can't help but suspect that your tester actually shows larger
numbers closer to the mirror. I know you are in the presence of your tester
and I am not. But if you did the stroke as to hog the middle as you describe
and it "appears" to have made center's radius even longer, it would be well
worthwhile to consider. If it were me and my tester I would have to recheck
that I knew which way the numbers go when I move the tester forward and
back. It is very unlikely that the tangential strokes would not have made an
ugly hole in the center.

I really hope this is the reason for your problem. It is easily
"fixed". I can think of no other reason that would cause your result and
I'll bet others will be stumped too.
