Buck,
I lost the full size lap I used for polishing my 12.25" mirror so I made 
an 8" pitch lap for figuring and it worked wonderfully. I managed to get 
Strehl ratio 0.957 using both Sixtests and Figure45 for Foucault data 
analysis. So I'd recommend to go with option # 3.
