[ATM] Pitch Laps

Hi All,
After a long hiatus from pushing glass I've decided to finish figuring a full thickness 12.5" f6 that has been hiding in my basement for several of years. It's polished and spherical except for a small central hole. I don't have the original tool/lap. I'm thinking I've got these options:
   1) Use an existing 10" lap on a hydrostone tool from a 10" f5.6 I finished a few years back. Pros: pretty much ready to go. Well charged with CeO. Cons: not sure about pitch quality at this time. I'm concerned that some scratches in my 10" were due to impurities picked up in my final figuring sessions. (I left the scratches in the 10" but just about went nuts over it).
  2) Pour a new 12.5 hydrostone tool and lay down a new pitch lap. Pros: Clean pitch. Can do MOT or TOT. Star lap possibilities. Cons: Heavy. Time consuming process to dry and seal the stone.
  3) New lap on a 8" glass tool (near full thickness). Pros: Cleanest solution. Fairly quick. Cons: Sounds smallish for figuring a 12.5".

I want to go with #1 because it's quick. I could just about start tomorrow. But I don't know about the pitch. If there is a possibility there may be a contaminant in that pitch is there anything I can or should do about it?

Any recommendations or other insights appreciated.

Thanks,
