[ATM] RE: New list, Salt Shakers, Stereo Vision

Hello all, I decided to reply to three listings in one listing and reply
to
everyone at the same time. If this is confusing, try reading full messages
of
the previous E-mail listed ten times in your replies, and then trying to
pick out
your two sentence reply..... Hey just address your reply separately to
atm@atmlist.net .. Don't use your reply option, just remember what the
letter was you are responding to. Hey man we are still allowed to use pencil
and paper to make notes, although this may be tough on the wrist and
sharpening
pencils can be hazardous , It has worked for me with no injuries.....
My first reply is in regards to the new list and Pronunciation of our
historic bretheren. I would like to thank all of you who replied and I know
that all Newbee's will have the correct pronunciation to these names and
pass it on,
...Right.. Although I am surprized that Mr. RONCHI is Italian, but I think
I
have heard of a pasta of a simular name,.. maybe a dream...

My second reply is to Kevin... Keeper of the skies up north who used to
be keeper down here in Florida I think... Using salt shakers for large
grits,
even 220, is the way to go. Your hands touch nothing, the application is
controlled, and you tape up the top when finished. Just keep the exterior
clean
and stow in a nice tupperware container....

My third reply is to Steve and Guy B.... on the off topic of Stereo
Photography. This is an old concept since the beggining of photography as I
am sure everyone knows and will not get into the history. But.. If you
have never
tried or attempted to take a 3-D photo or (photos) of your own , you are
missing
out on an old classic treat. I have used 35mm slide film and rigged a tripod
with an angle of about 12 inches with two marks each 6 inches apart. Taking
a
still photo at each side of this 6 inch horizontal shift and keeping the
frame
up and down the same and centering a "still" subject , the "veiw Master"
view
can be reproduced. As a matter of fact I modified a "view-master" to hold
the
two 35mm slides to produce the 3-D effect. I must say it is quite effective.
Edmound Scientific catalouge sells a very cheap Stereoscope with computer
generated 3-dimentional cards that are quite detailed. Although these are
for
educational purposes and for school age genders they are quite remarkable..

My last entry is concerning my own question to the many minds out
there.
I have made my FOUCAULT tester to the specifications of many listings and
then some. My motion towards the mirror and away from the mirror is a 1/4" x
20
threaded bolt. On the backside I have a .001" increment "dial" gauge.
The knife edge is controlled by a modified tube cutter (an "imp") that the
knife
edge is mounted to. The in and out motion in relation to the mirror is
smooth
and uses a rubber band for tension control. The light for the system is LED
and
yellow. My slit is two razor blades edge to edge. The knife edge intersects
parrallel to the slit with a 1/4" "viewing hole" above.
My question to anyone is.... Why is such a small peephole needed???
If I want to put a camera up to this hole it will be impossible to take a
photo.
Did I read the wrong description or can anything above the slit and knife
edge
be open. When using the RONCHI test this is the case, and even close to Null
it somewhat imitates the FOUCAULT image.. I am getting close to doing
some
serious testing soon.. Any imput will be taken in and digested.. Thanks
                                Russ Jocoy
